Mrs. Grace Wright is a well-known hybridiser of pelargoniums. Until recently, she resided in Moolap, Victoria (some of her introductions are prefixed with the word "Moolap"). She has now retired to live in Queensland.
Grace was given a cutting of "Neptune" in the early fifties while living at Newport and has taken a plant of it wherever she has lived. Her first seedling came from this plant but she has produced many since then.
Her latest achievement before leaving Geelong was being honoured by the Geelong Regional Convention Bureau and she was asked to raise a seedling to become their plant. It had to have cerise in it,or be all that colour, as that was the colour of their logo. They chose the flower. It was pale mauve with cerise markings, a regal she called 'Geelong Convention'.
She was a very active member of the Geelong Pelargonium Lovers Club and served many years for them. Our thanks to her for supplying our Research Committee with a list of her cultivar names and we wish her a long and happy retirement and continued success with her hybridising.
