Mr. R.E. Elliott was an inaugural member of the Agricultural, Horticultural and Floricultural Society, McLaren Flat branch, formed in 1926. His vineyard was called "Lynbrook" and he was to subsequently use that name to form part of the names of his introductions in the pelargonium family. Mr. Elliott joined the Australian Geranium Society in July, 1967, after becoming interested in the fancy leaved varieties. He went on to grow what could possibly have been the largest collection of this type in Australia. Amongst his introductions was 'Lynbrook Silver' (five-fingered), which won the George Spalding Memorial trophy in 1980. He also has a large collection of species.
Mr. Reg Elliott, a quiet, friendly and dedicated man, remained a member of the Australian Geranium Society until his death in December, 1983.
