Mr. "Jack" Holt has lived in the Frankston district of Victoria all his life. He and his late wife Dorothy, were keen competitors in shows of the Geranium & Pelargonium Societies in Victoria.
Jack also competed in shows in New South Wales, and very successfully. Among the many prizes and trophies he has won is the 'George Spalding Memorial Trophy' which was awarded to him by the Australian Geranium Society Inc. in 1981 for the most distinct new introduction of that year.
Following the loss of his wife, Jack continues to maintain his active interest, not only with growing beautiful plants but working hard as a member of the Pelargonium & Geranium Society of Southern Victoria.
